Assistants
Set up instructions, knowledge, skills and a model for your work.
Choose or create an assistant
Start with an assistant that is already available and read its description. If you need a separate specialization, open the workspace's assistant section and create a profile. This requires permission to change workspace settings.
You can choose a starting point from the template catalog. After creating the assistant, review its instructions and connections: a template does not automatically connect your external accounts.
Start with the Administrator or bring in a specialist
The Administrator is the workspace's initial assistant. Start by discussing the task with it, then choose a specialist who is already connected or prepare a new one.
To bring a connected specialist into a personal conversation, type @ and select them from the list. A name typed or pasted without selecting it from the list remains ordinary text. A selected mention uses the existing profile and does not create a duplicate.
If you need a new permanent specialist, the Administrator shows a proposal with the role, model, knowledge and required capabilities. Choose Confirm, Select existing, Change or Cancel. A new profile is created only after Confirm. Starting from a template opens a personal conversation with the Administrator.
Describe its purpose
Give the assistant a clear name, description and instructions. Explain what it helps with, which materials it uses and how it should present the result. Specify a language and time zone when they matter for the task.
Keep general rules in the profile and task-specific requirements in the conversation. After changing instructions, test the assistant with a short example whose expected result you know.
Add knowledge and skills
Add reference materials the assistant should rely on: product descriptions, formatting rules or reference information. In your request, specify which documents are especially important.
Uploading a file, processing it and using it in a response are separate steps. If the assistant cannot find a fact, check that the file is ready and ask about a specific section.
A skill describes how to do a type of work. A tool performs an action, and a plugin can add both tools and skills. See plugins and skills.
Choose a model and permissions
Choose a primary model from those available in the workspace. If the list is empty, the owner should check the model settings. Whether you can change the model directly in a conversation depends on the assistant's settings.
Review tool permissions: which actions can run immediately, which require a request and which are prohibited. Access to an external service must be connected separately.
Give colleagues access
A member may only have access to some assistants in the workspace. When inviting someone or editing their access, select the assistants they need and ask them to check the list after signing in.
Assistant usage limits and the monetary balance are separate restrictions. Even with a positive balance, a task can stop because it reaches a configured limit.
